August Fun Fest

The Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce is pleased to co-sponsor this event with Westmoreland County Parks & Recreation, The Valley Independent and the Westmoreland County Board of Commissioners.

The Fun Fest is held at Cedar Creek Park, Rostraver Township and offers fun for children and adults. Event activities include carnival amusement rides, live music, dancing, car show & cruise, arts & crafts display, flea market, refreshment booths, and numerous other activities.

August Fun Fest 2011

On Sunday, August 14th we marked the 25th year of summer tradition with August Fun Fest at Cedar Creek Park. The GRC operated three refreshment booths and a promotional booth featuring a dunk tank. Our volunteer members had a blast in the dunk tank.

Thank you to the dunk tank volunteers – Dunkin Donuts, Robert Crall, of Valley 1st Community FCU, Parker Lynn, of BVA HS Baseball, Attorney Frank Spoto, Jr, of the Law Office of Frank Spoto, Jr., Tanya Chaney of Chaney’s Natural Wellness, Mike Baines of Functional Solutions and Melanie Patterson of Sweet Nostalgia on Broad Avenue.

Other members and volunteers worked throughout the day in our refreshment booths, selling soda, water and hot dogs and at the ride ticket booth. Volunteers from Rostraver Public Library, Belle Vernon Rotary, Mon Valley Networking Group, Rostraver Township, Rostraver Historical Society, State Representative Ted Harhai and GRC members worked together to make the day a success.

The event would not be possible without the support of committee members, Bernie Zunic, Bill Ruozzi, Tony Ruozzi, Debby Puglia, Mary Esther Antal, Robert Crall, Cathy Yurkovich and the effort of Dan Carpenter and his staff from the Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation Department. The weather cooperated and those attending had a great time!
