Fire Department
The Rostraver Central Volunteer Fire Company was formed by area residents of Rostraver Township for the purpose of protecting and safeguarding life and property in Rostraver Township.
In 1997 the fire company responded to over 300 calls for emergency assistance. All 40 membersof the fire company are volunteers who donate their time and effort to help keep Rostraver a safe and secure place to live.
The department currently runs two fire engines that are capable of carrying water, hose, breathing apparatus, ladders, and rescue tools to the scene of an emergency. In 1996 we placed in service an emergency squad truck and in 1997 we purchased a boat for river rescue purposes.
With the ever increasing population of Rostraver, a need was seen for a vehicle capable of carrying hose, water, and also a much larger ladder. In 1997 we purchased a new 75ft ladder truck from the Sutphen Corp. It was delivered August 1998.
The fire company currently utilizes its social hall as a means of raising funds thru hall rentals. Weddings, dances, and other events are held throughout the year all for the purpose of helping to fund the fire company budget.
As always has been, the Rostraver Central Volunteer Fire Company will provide the best possible fire protection to the residents of Rostraver and the surrounding communities.
