Golf Outing

The GRC hosts an annual golf outing to benefit the scholarship program. This event offers sponsorship and advertising opportunities, as well as a fun day on the course. The golf outing is held at Cedarbrook Golf Course. The event features a continental breakfast, shotgun start, lunch, buffet dinner, awards, and prizes. Hole in One prizes have included a Diamond Ring compliments of Mar-Bill Diamonds & Jewelry, a Kawasaki motorcycle and Kawasaki quad compliments of Angels World of Cycles.

Great prizes are being offered at this year's Fall Classic!

Join us for the GRC Fall Classic, Friday October 1st, Cedarbrook Golf Course.

The day will begin coffee and donuts provided by Dunkin Donuts and a 9:00am registration. A 10:00 shotgun start, lunch at the turn, dinner, beverages, door prizes, golf gift bag, raffle prizes, 50/50 and more are included in the $100.00 per golfer registration fee.

Great hole-in-one prizes include a quad and motorcycle compliments of Big’s Trucking, Big’s Sanitation and Angel’s World of Cycles, and an awesome jewelry item compliments of MarBill Diamond and Jewelry.

Raffle prizes include a 32” TV and Blue Ray Player compliments of Highway Appliance and a Bridal Package, including Tux Rental and in-stock Bridal Gown (up to $800 value) compliments of Checkers Boutique.

Raffle tickets are on sale now for these prizes and you do not need to be a golfer to take a chance!!

The day was cloudy and overcast, but that didn’t keep 50 golfers and a dozen of volunteers away from Cedarbrook Golf Course on Friday, June 12th. The golfers were greeted at registration by helpful volunteers and great giveaway bags that included a golf towels, golf balls, drink cups, coupons, magazines, snacks, first aid kits, pens and other goodies. A continental breakfast was generously donated by Dunkin Donuts, Rostraver.

The golfers vied for great hole-in-one prizes that included a Rolex Submariner Watch, courtesy of Marbill Diamonds & Jewelers, a Kawasaki VN 900 Motorcycle, courtesy of Angel’s World of Cycles, and a Kawasaki 360 Prairie Quad, courtesy of Big’s Sanitation. The golfers concluded their day with dinner and prize giveaways that included a 26” Flat Screen TV from Highway Appliance, Men’s and Women’s Golf Clubs from Bill’s Golfland, Office Supplies from Staples Inc., and Karate Classes from Performance Martial Arts.

The T Blake Parker Leadership Award was presented to Leonard “Skip” Pirilla for his initiative and vision in working to bring the Greater Rostraver Chamber into existence. Skip accepted the award on behalf of the entire organization.

The three top finishing teams received plaques and skill prizes were awarded as well. 1st Place honors went to Keith Peer, Ray Giambattista, George Guseman, and George Guseman, Jr. Second place went to Frank Spoto, Jr., Brook Gardner, Brian Rudolph and Frank Indof, and third place went to Mark Jurczak, Frank Jurczak, Bill Zaph and Denver Byron.

Proceeds from the Spring Classic Golf Outing are used to fund scholarships for students attending Douglas Education Center, Westmoreland County Community College, MVC, and California University of Pennsylvania. To date nearly $20,000 has been raised for the scholarship fund.
